I'm going to answer the question once and for all does the acai berry juice diet really work for weight loss? What I'll tell you might surprise you, especially if you're a loyal Oprah fan and would never think of her to be wrong.
What is so special about acai berry juice anyway?
Acai Berries are potentially the most nutrient dense berry on the planet. It carries a very high level of anti-oxidants and vitamins, all relative to its size of course. It is known as a superfood and is great for anti-aging and boosting your overall health.
Acai berries also sport some good levels of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, it is these fats that many believe to be the main component that helps the berries to drop pounds off of people. They also have again relatively high levels of fiber.
So where does the truth lie?

A calorie journal is a highly effective means of holding yourself accountable to your diet progress. Studies have shown that people who maintain a diet journal are more likely to succeed and are less likely to veer off of the diet.
Yet even those who do veer off course and mess up on their diets find it much easier to bounce back and resume the diet than those who do not maintain a calorie journal.
What a calorie journal does for you is not only help you maintain accountability but it also educates you. Dieting? Don't Go on Another One Before You Read This!

Did you put it back on again? Did you blame yourself for being greedy, lazy or some combination of the two?
The sad truth is that the vast majority of people who lose weight from dieting put it all back on. Most put on more weight than they lost.
The effects of following a low fat, reduced calorie diet were shown in an experiment carried out in the Korean War on conscientious objectors.
These were young healthy men of a variety of sizes, with no history of weight or health problems. They were put on a low fat diet of 1500 calories a day (positively generous by modern standards).
So, what happened to these men?
The men constantly thought, talked and even dreamed about food. Some of them became so obsessed with the delights of food that they decided to become chefs after the experiment ended.
Many of the men could not stick to the diet and ate secretly. The men became more anxious and depressed. They had difficulty concentrating on tasks and they began to withdraw from other people.
Two of the men had emotional breakdowns and one even cut off the end of his finger! it appeared that he did this in the hope that he would be excused from the study. Men who had had no previous concerns about their appearance or weight became more critical of their bodies. Some of the men complained about feeling overweight even though they had lost weight.
After the diet
At the end of the dieting period, many of the men found that they could not stop eating when they were full. Some were eating up to 10,000 calories a day. After the study was over, the men continued to be preoccupied with food and some reported that their cravings were even worse than when they were on the restricted diet.
Ten of the fifteen men who were still in touch with the researchers became so anxious about their weight that they put themselves on another diet and a few were continuing to eat huge quantities of food.
Three months after the experiment, 15 out of the 24 men were still very concerned about food or weight, and this continued for a further eight months after the diet was over.

The unfortunate truth is that dieting actually makes you fatter. Although you may lose weight in the short term, numerous studies have now shown that at least 95% of people put the weight back on. Recent research has shown that people who go on diets end up fatter than people of the same starting weight who don't bother.
It is possible to lose weight and keep it off but you have to do it in a way which puts you back in touch with your feelings of hunger and fullness, so you are able to eat when you are hungry and (this is the bit people struggle with at first!) stop when you are full.

Burn Fat, Increase Metabolism

Robert BrittI talked the other day about increasing metabolism to get faster caloric burn. What I suggested was eating more meals per day (5 to 6) but smaller quantities of food. This has been proven to work. I have even known people to sneak in an extra meal by getting up around 3 in the morning to have a meal replacement shake to push it a little further. I think that's a bit extreme (OK, a lot extreme, but that's just me)
What are some other ways to increase your metabolic rate? First let's understand what that really means. Metabolic rate is simply the speed at which your body burns calories. So what burns calories best? Muscle mass. So one of the best ways to burn the fat is to add muscle. And how do we do that?
Everyone, all together now, 1,2,3...weight training. That's right folks. Build your muscles and they will do the work from there. Lots of people spend time on treadmills and eleptical machines, etc, and I am not saying to give that up. That also burns calories and gives your heart a great workout, but muscle works 24/7 to burn more fat for you. If you've ver wondered how those bodybuilder types eat so much yet stay lean, that is the trick. Their muscles need all those extra calories. If those folks don't eat massive amounts of quality food they will lose muscle mass.
The next thing I will talk about is sex. Now the best way to do that is...wait, no, what I am talking about is the inequality of weight loss between men and women. I've heard it lots of times, it is easier for a man to lose weight than a woman. This ties right back to muscle mass again. A man with a high percentage of body fat will burn less calories than a woman who has more muscle mass. (Or it will be really close at least) So again it ties in with resistance training.
When I talked about weight training, it doesn't have to be free weights. It can be machines, it can be plate loaded machines, it could be using your body weight for resistance. It all boils down to pushing and pulling weights, of any sort, with your muscles and building them up.
Another, perhaps easier, way to increase the burn is to increase water intake. Water is at the center of the hydration process, and is also key to the chemical reactions that relate to burning more calories.
These are just a couple examples of ways to increase your metabolism. Deb is working on a new book with lots of ways to increase metabolic burn rate and I am really looking forward to reading that and incorporating some of those ideas as well.I'll keep you posted on the release.

You are more likely to eat junk foods in times of stress than otherwise, as people usually derive great comfort from these delicious foods. Once you get stress out of your way, weight loss would become easier for you.
If something or someone is bothering you, think about how to bypass or get rid of that thing or person. Also, don't bring your office workload back home; leave office work at office itself. Come back home and have a nice time with your family and forget about what happened in office.
2. Enjoy your life: You live only once, so there is no reason why you wouldn't enjoy your life. Remember that indulging yourself in fun and recreational activities would help you cope up with stress. Lose Weight in 2009

John DavenportNow that the new year has begun it is time to decide whether you will lose weight in 2009 or will this year be the same as the one before. It's best to make these decisions as early in the year to take advantage of the special motivational power the new year has on us all.
But if you want to lose weight in 2009 you will need to do more than simply have the desire of doing so. You really need some sort of game plan.
The first step is to set some specific goals. What is you want to achieve. You may want more than one thing and that is great. Some common goals are to lose 10 pounds (or more), tone your abs, thighs, or your arms. Whatever it is that you want, it usually starts with fat loss.
The second step is to make sure you have some sort of weight loss plan to follow. It doesn't have to be a professional program (even though I recommend it) but it does have to be detailed enough so that you're not left guessing what to do. Also, whatever plan you follow to lose fat in 2009, it has to incorporate physical exercise and the proper nutrition to remain healthy and burn calories at a rapid pace.
The third step is enlist the support of those closest to you, friends and family members alike.
Each weight loss process has some bumps and difficulties. You will need the help and support of those with whom you spend most of your time so that you have people to push you on and keep your motivation high.
If you choose a weight loss plan that works (like those I recommend in the links below), you have every chance to make 2009 the year you lose weight and look great.
