I Hate Myself For Not Losing Weight!

By Brian Bonito

How many times have you tried to lose weight, only to trip yourself up a few days later and fall off the wagon? Yeah, been there, done that, right? So you turn to the Internet, searching for weight loss information and “riddle me this,” Batman (or woman) what kind of weight loss advice do you find?

I recently stumbled across a web (sales) page from a very popular weight loss book. Okay, in truth, I’ve seen the site a hundred times before. I’ve seen pictures of the owner. And hey, give him credit; the guy is in shape (or was when he scanned those old pictures in there). But let’s stop there, because in his sales letter he’ll have you believe that the whole weight loss world is out to get you, and that, come rain or shine, there will thieves and vultures at your door.
That everyone is giving out false information.
Except him, that is.

According to him, he’s the only person that can truly help you because everyone is either A) a crook, or B) just plain stupid. He even talks to you like you may be, a-hem, “not” smart.

I don’t know about you, but I might be a little hesitant to believe something coming from a self-proclaimed savior of the fitness world. God, help us all if he truly is! He has his own way of thought—which is fine—but if I had to lose weight (a lot of weight) I’d probably look elsewhere for one simple reason. He lacks the ultimate quality necessary to inspire change without even knowing it.

That quality is empathy: the ability to understand you, and your own personal struggles, from your side of life.

Hey, losing weight is never easy, and there will be bumps and bruises and trips and falls. You’ll have to rise again and again in the face of adversity. There are supplements that “do” help you (even though the other guy will have you believe there aren’t any).

Your goal is to lose weight? You may need help, and yep, there are a few secrets. There are a few things you should know that (almost) nobody talks about. There are a few key elements that very few people know. Deeper secrets, we’ll call them.

Weight loss is a personal journey, which is much more than “go eat this, or go exercise that.”

And once you figure that part out, then that’s your true beginning. From there, maybe you can get past your own guilt and pain and start to really lose weight.
