How to Shed Fat and Shape Your Abs
By Joey LarusaIn order to turn your flabby abs into a flat, lean looking six pack, it's going to take some time, and it's going to take some work. But of course you already knew that right? The problem is, most people really truly believe that there is an easy way out. A shortcut to forming the perfect abs. Perhaps that explains why so many people are wasting their valuable time and money on fad products that either don't work or are only a temporary solution.
If you are working towards losing weight and want to use ab workouts to form a six pack, take the time to learn what you really need to do and which ab workouts will get you to where you want to be the fastest, without wasting time doing exercises that dont work. Here are some tips to get started.
First and foremost, it is imperative to get yourself on diet that consists of plenty of green vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins. I'm not a big fan of the word "diet". To me a "diet" is temporary. What you want to aim for is a permanent change in the way you go about eating foods. Changing your relationship with foods is the most important aspect of gaining a six pack abs.
There are many ab specific workouts you can use to strengthen and tone your abs, but you have to understand that ab workouts alone are in no way going to give you the look you are going for. Burning fat is your number one priority and in order to do that, you need to use workouts that are going to speed up your metabolism and fat burning hormones.
Two of the best workouts you can use that will work the biggest muscle groups in your body, thus increasing your metabolism more than any other workouts, are the squat and deadlift.
These workouts will not only build muscle (no ladies, they will not make you look big and buff!) but they also target fat around your belly. Even though you are not working your abs specifically, these workouts do work your core by forcing to balance and stabilize your body during the workouts.
Another great way to speed up your metabolism to work on your six pack is by using any exercise that has you running as fast as you can and jumping as high as possible. The sad truth is that most adults can't even remember the last time they just got out and ran as fast as they can. Do you? Pick up a sport or just get outside and run. It may hurt the first few times but no pain no gain right?
