Lack of Sleep Can Be Detrimental to You Getting Results
By Lemuel ThomasAs defined in the Wikipedia, sleep is a natural state of bodily rest observed throughout the animal kingdom. A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a medical disorder of the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional functioning.
Sleeping is just as important as eating right and exercising. Your body repairs itself while you are sleeping. Also, your body burn calories while sleeping. So, if you aren't getting enough sleep you will limit the ability of your body to burn calories at rest. Researchers have reported that women who sleep five hours or less per night generally, weigh more than women who sleep seven hours per night.
I myself enjoy sleep Sometimes, it is easy to get caught up in various project or task that cause you to miss a few hours of sleep It is important to get back on track with your sleep.
According to the National Sleep Foundation, the average woman gets only six and a half hours of sleep per night. Chronic sleep deprivation can have a variety of effects on the metabolism and overall health.
Inadequate sleep:
interferes with the body's ability to metabolize carbohydrates;
causes your body to store more fat;
drives down leptin levels, which causes the body to crave carbohydrates;
can lead to insulin resistance and contribute to increased risk of diabetes;
can increase blood pressure; and,
can increase the risk of heart disease.
So, if you are trying to lose weight, get to bed and drop the weight.
