It probably wasn't laziness. In most cases it's because we have all got out of the habit of asking questions. We don't take the time to find out all the facts before we take a decision. The result is that we take ill-informed decisions. This leads to misunderstanding and confusion.
If you want to get skinny, you can easily multiply your chances of getting skinny if you ask more questions: if you get curious and start to dig for information. It's out there and it's not difficult to find.
Dig and you will find. What you will find is that there is a growing body of opinion that is saying that diets don't work. If you came across this piece of information, you should start to dig some more. You would then find that the best way to achieve permanent weight loss is not to go on a diet, but to learn new habits, slim habits.
