3 Steps To Help You Lose Weight Without The Excuses
By Michelle T GreenAccording to recent statistics, over 60% of Americans are overweight. This figure is staggering! That means that there are millions and millions of people (more than half the population in the US) making excuses as to why they weigh what they do, every day!
Ok, that might have been a bit harsh, but how many times have you said (or heard someone say) "I'll start my diet tomorrow", or "I'll start working on losing weight after my holiday", or similar?
I've been guilty of it myself. I'll say something like, "I'll start working on my weight next week" or something like that. Next week and tomorrow never come. Today is the day to make the decision to lose weight and actually set up a plan on how you're going to do it.
I've decided to do things the cheap and easy way. I've downloaded a great weight loss program, and I've used it to help me plan my meals for the week, and also my exercise routines. The program even helped me work out what calorie intake I should be aiming for. Pretty clever huh?
Now mind you, I'm not actually "overweight" as such, but like many women out there, I have the remnants of a baby belly which I want to get rid of. I've been pondering what I am going to do about it for OVER A YEAR! If I'd done something about it a year ago, I'd look pretty good right now!
Ok, so how do we put the excuses aside and actually do something about our quest to lose weight?
1. Make the decision that today is the day - if you're not committed, then you might as well give up now, so decide that you are going to lose weight, no matter what!
2. Plan how you're going to lose weight. Many already know what they should do to lose weight, and others (like me) need a bit of help, and that is perfectly fine. Just make sure the advice you decide to follow is healthy advice and will not harm your health. Plan your days in advance, so you know when you're going to eat a certain food, and when you're going to exercise.
3. Take action and just do it! If you feel an excuse coming on, replace it with a determination to lose weight in the best and healthiest manner you can and push that excuse aside. You have a lot to gain by losing weight, so it's time to do what's best for you!
Excuses are a thing of the past. They are not going to get you anywhere in life and they're especially not going to help you lose weight, so it's time you got rid of them once and for all.
Once you have taken action on a regular basis, your new routine will become a habit - that's when you will really start to see results!
