By Shaun AllenIt's time for the annual family Christmas Party and you look like you haven't done any exercise in years. This is a common problem that many of us face this time of the year. You had a goal to re-invent yourself and lose weight this year. Unfortunately, it didn't work out exactly as you had planned.
The good news is that there is a solution to your problem. The bad news is that it doesn't involve popping a weight loss pill or watching tv. You're actually going to have to work to get the results but they will be well worth it.
Here is a quick plan that will help you lose weight today-
1. Resist all of the treats- I know you're neighbors worked so hard to make those sugar cookies. I know it's tradition for Aunt Sue to send over her famous Christmas goodies. But you're going to have to throw it all in the trash when no one is looking. If you don't you could easily add 5 pounds before you even have a chance to go to the family Christmas Party.
Take each portion of unhealthy food you have on your meal plan and replace it with something healthy. Get rid of the sugar cookies and replace it with your favorite fruit. Get rid of McDonald's and replace it with some nice Holiday Shrimp. See, this isn't so bad after all!
2. Stay active- Gas prices have been dropping recently, but this doesn't mean that you should give up the bike just yet. Make sure you do your best to stay active. If you're in a cool climate this is more difficult. But you should be able to find a gym and play your favorite type of sport. It also won't hurt to get your gym membership a month early (hint: New Year's Resolutions) and get working out right away.
