Getting Your Body Ready For the Summer

It seems like every year before the summer begins everyone is looking to get back the body they want for the beach. Well, I'm going to share with you the methods I use to make sure my body is looking it's best all year round.

The first step is to start taking measurements. You need to have an exact idea of where you are right now. The reason is because you will need to measure how well you do. Without measurement, you'll never know if you're doing any good. Start off by measuring your weight and body fat percentage. These are the most pivotal ones to have. Next, take a measure of your chest, stomach and hips to see how large they are. These will be your measuring points that you will take each month.

The next step is to start getting into a workout routine. I highly recommend the traditional 5 day: 3 weight lifting, 2 cardio workout plan. I know as women we are intimidated by the weight room, but it is a fantastic source for burning the fat off your body. Cardio really isn't that good for weight loss, so you should limit it to just 2 a week.

Lastly, you'll want to start on a good diet. This doesn't mean you're going to starve yourself, like so many people do. You're going to clean up your diet of grease and processed food, but you're also going to stimulate your metabolism by eating smaller meals more often. This will make sure you're burning more calories and more fat off your body.
