The first step, you can take in your diet is to stop eating excess meats. Meat is a source of protein which produces proteins in your system. However, excess proteins in your system can endanger your body. You also need to cut down your fat intake because too many fats in your body system can also cause you, serious heart problems. Actually, you can take other vital proteins from vegetables and other source of healthy diets to maintain your body. Another diet tip that can actually help you lose weight is to control or reduce the amount of high calorie foods you take.

The second important step you must take is to eliminate your intake of junk foods from your diet. Although sometimes you can be guilty of taking a lot of junk food as food, perhaps because you are hurrying to work while most people are guilty because they would like to reduce their daily income expenses. Thus, we are forced to eat meals from fast foods restaurants from time to time which leads to taking unbalanced and unregulated diet foods. These foods have very high calories content and some examples are burgers and other fry foods. They add unnecessary weights to your body making you overweight.

Avoid fast foods, if it's possible you can prepare your own meals because this may eventually help your body. Though, sometimes it might not be possible to avoid fast foods due to your disposition of time. SHOW UP LATE TO THE PARTY

You can show up late in the party, after having your normal low calorie meal. This way you can prevent yourself from indulging into cookies and hot chocolate. You will feel less pressurized to gorge on junk food and other such things. However make sure that in order to do so you do not end up being rude to the host. Be careful especially when going for smaller parties.

SAY NO TO ALCOHOL

Say no to alcohol if you do not wish to gain weight. Beer and cocktails are a big hit at such holiday parties however they are rich in calories. Another thing with alcohol is that after having few drinks, your determination and resolution to say no to other food items decreases. The first thing that you need to be aware of is diabetes. Diabetes is a huge killer and many people have indeed died from it. It is starting to become a huge problem in the United States and is affecting many individuals and other countries as well.

If you happen to get diabetes you get increased chances of having high blood pressure, heart stroke, blindness and heart disease.

How to Overcome Being Overweight

The best way that you can overcome obesity and being overweight is to change your diet and lifestyle. If you find that you eat a lot of fast food and junk food then you are going to have to change your eating habits.

Put a limit on yourself as to how much junk food you can consume in a day. Try little things like drinking water instead of pop and so on. Fruits and vegetables are good and fast food is a big no no.

They Laughed When I Said I Was Going to Get Abs

I felt disheartened. I wanted a rock hard set of abs more than anything, but didn't know how. It seems quite easy now, but isn't everything easy when you know how? Think for a moment with me - there is no hurry. When was the last time somebody made fun of an idea you had? It may have been a business idea, something you wanted to study or do, or a hobby you wanted to take up.

Can you recall it?

I know what was said when I announced that I was going to shed body fat and get a cut six pack, and it wasn't supportive cheering, but here's what did happen.

I failed.

I spent so much time thinking I was eating well and doing the right workouts, that when I didn't get results I was mad. Just like when anything fails, sometimes we respond angrily, it's human nature to respond like that, but it is not the best way to deal with it.

I stepped back from the situation and asked myself "What is it again that I want? And How am I going to get it? I came up with this: I want to get abs and a nice body, so I need advice from somewhere.

This is what I discovered:

To get abs you need to have a great nutrition program AND a great workout program
The nutrition side of things is very important. This means that you should can all sugary drinks from your diet first as these are the ones that turn to fat first. Our bodies can deal with eating sugary goods far better than straight drinking them. Start including lots of good fats in your diet like avacado, fish, flax seed or sunflower oil. Also include lots of proteins such as dairy, eggs, lean meats, milk etc etc.

On the other hand, the workouts you choose are important too. You should keep your workouts to under an hour - sometimes going for longer can be beneficial, but they are best to be kept at under an hour. Incorporate plenty of typical cardio exercises into your routine such as biking, running, swimming, skipping, boxing, rowing etc. These are great at burning body fat. Make sure you also include some resistance training somewhere in there. Lifting weights, sandbag training, sledgehammering, power complexes and body weight workouts are all great ways to shape up.

So, I found some help and managed to achieve the results that I had wanted all along.
Sometimes a mentor who you have never talked to, but provides information can be a great source of inspiration. One day I am going to meet all my mentors that have inspired me and I hope you want to do the same.

I now have the results that I want, but I am constantly growing and changing and always have small things to focus on on my physique.

You must have proper education in order to successfully lose weight permanently. It is more to it than eating condensed meals and killing yourself with exercising. It's not just a case of giving people a few ideas and telling them to go and implement them. People need to know how to implement what is presented to them. These are the things that the commercial industry doesn't tell you. Instead, they push pills, supplements, shakes, and certain products. None of this gives you lasting results.

The commercial weight loss industry doesn't get the eating habits that people created. The habits are ingrained in their minds and they immediately grab hold to the habits daily. People don't have a clue how to change their habits. They don't know where to begin. This is when they rely on a diet that does not produce true success.

People struggle with emotional eating, uncontrollable snacking, stress, a lack of motivation, and living a complete sedentary life. All of these factors contribute to weight gain and poor habits.

3 Easy Steps to Lose Your Double Chin

There is no instant fix to your double chin problem. It would be nice to have just a simple exercise targeting the chin, but it isn't enough. Unfortunately, you will need to drop the overall amount of fat on your body, or BMI(Body Mass Index), in order to start seeing a difference.
However, if you follow these 3 easy steps, you will be able to lose your double chin.

1. Increase your level of activity. - This doesn't have to be a complex workout routine, especially if you haven't been very active. An easy way to transition into a healthy workout, is to add more steps to what you do daily already. If the store is close to home, walk. Instead of parking close to the store, park a bit farther away. Instead of using the elevator, try taking the steps. Nothing too involved yet, as it will take about a week for your body to adjust.

2. After about a week or so, it will be time to add in a workout routine. This doesn't require a full time commitment, in fact you only need 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week. Start off by stretching, so you don't injure yourself. Try seeing how many pushups, situps, curls(if you have weights),and crunches you can do. Don't just rush through these either, be careful! If this is your first time doing them, it will be a good way to see what your capable of. You should do these until you start to feel the burn, or as many as you're will to push. When you have a good routine down, you should start seeing results.

3. One of the most important things you could do to lose your double chin, is to have a healthy diet. The first step should be to stop drinking soft drinks! You may simply lose a few pounds by this act alone. Also, drinking water instead will drastically improve results while working out.
Making adjustments such as waiting until your home to eat instead of fast food, pass on seconds, and adding more fruits and vegetables is a simple way to get you not only to leading a healthier lifestyle, but also saves you money.

First off you need to diet by eating more of the right foods and less of the wrong foods. Avoid fast food and eat more fruits and vegetables. By eating more natural foods you will feel more full and less hungry. Also try eating frequently rather than waiting a long time to eat. A good rule of thumb would be to eat every three hours.

Also make sure you don't skip breakfast. Studies have shown that people who skip breakfast are more likely to pig out later in the day. Think about it when you wake up your body has just gone a long time without any food so you should get a meal in so you are more energetic throughout the day.

Once you have started watching what you eat it is time to start exercising. It does not have to be big. Just start getting more physical activity in your day. You can start playing a sport. It could be just shooting hoops in your backyard.

If you really want to get a beach body then start going to the gym. Take things slow if you have no experience. Make sure you are able to do at least twenty push ups before moving on to the weights. One of the most important things you have to do to get rid of that belly fat is to change your approach to eating. You should be participating in both cardio exercise to help burn off calories and also strength training exercise which will help burn calories while also adding lean muscle to your frame, and burning more calories everyday from that point forward.

Start your day off the right way with a good, large breakfast. Eat consistently throughout the day so you never get too hungry and your metabolism stays firing away. Cut off your eating a few hours before bedtime and always include some cardio and strength training into your lifestyle as well. • Raw vegans - They are vegans whose diet consists of largely raw vegan foods. This includes foods like sprouted grains, fermented foods, and untreated plant fats. In recent years, this diet has become popular because it is provides a simple and tasty way to weight loss. Raw vegan foods also have high fiber content so people don't feel hungry on this diet.

• Lacto-ovo vegetarians - They include dairy products (lacto) and eggs (ovo) in their diet along with fruits and vegetables. This diet provides a great way to transition from a non-vegetarian diet to a vegetarian diet because its not as strict as vegans.

• Pesco- and Pollo-Vegetarians - Pesco-vegetarians include fish in their diet whereas pollo-vegetarians include chicken. Thus, these cannot be strictly included in vegetarianism. However, they are strong advocates of healthy and organic food choices for detoxification and health reasons.

A vegetarian diet, regardless of its form, gives a weight loss benefit mainly due to its calorie density. This means that a fiber rich diet fills you up quicker, and helps curb your appetite. That is a natural way to eat less and shed excess weight.

However, even vegetarians need to watch their overall calorie intake to remain healthy. A vegetarian brownie or lasagna can add to the waistline as easily as burgers and fries. If you go vegetarian, you must have a variety of plant based foods and high fiber whole grains and avoid fatty foods to maximize benefits.

Nearly 65 percent of Americans are either obese or overweight. Many of them are trying to do something about it. Some have tried all sorts of diet foods, shakes, bars and pills. Others have taken the extreme step to have a stomach-stapling surgery to try and get rid of the pounds that just won't seem to go away.

The weight loss industry is huge. A report on the topic on Frontline estimated that there is about $40 billion dollars a year going into various weight loss programs, cures and information. But the fact that they keep spending that amount year after year shows that something is not working to give people real success.

The first fact about weight loss is that it is all based around caloric intake and calories used during the day. As we consume food and drink, the calories in those foods and drinks are either used (as energy), or put in storage if not needed (as fat).

The key to finding the balance on calorie intake and output is what kinds of calories you are taking in. When foods that are full of sugars and simple carbohydrates are taken into the body they are quickly broken down and absorbed into your system. This rapid absorption can mess with blood sugar levels. Meanwhile, high fiber foods, such as vegetables and complex carbohydrates will break down much more slowly and keep levels steady. They will also make you feel fuller.

You should always have a good diet with a healthy balance of foods including carbohydrates, proteins and fats. In addition to those macro nutrients, you also want to make sure you are getting enough in the area of micro nutrients, which are your vitamins and minerals. So, even as you pare down what you eat from day to day to lose weight, you need to make sure you are still taking in all the things your body needs.

While you may have been struggling with how to do this and still be able to lose weight for a while, there is good news. There is a way to do it, and do it successfully. You will be able to eat fewer calories, still feel like you have had plenty to eat, so you don't feel the need to snack, and still make sure you body remains healthy. It all comes down to using high fiber foods.

Fiber comes in two types, soluble and insoluble. When you are trying to lose weight, the fiber to steer toward is soluble fiber, according to nutritional expert Brenda Watsons new book. The reason is that soluble fibers in addition to adding bulk that can make your stomach feel full, also work to suppress the appetite over time on a hormonal level.

Watson's Book, The Fiber35 Diet, says when you take in soluble fibers, they help the release of CCK (choleocystokinin) hormone. CCK is a hormone that comes from the small intestine and sends a message to your body to let you know you are full, and don't need to eat anymore. That trigger will help you control those snacking and cheating between meal urges.

In order to have a healthy amount of fiber in your diet, you should try to eat 20-35 grams of fiber every day, according to the National Institutes of Health. In addition to helping you lose weight, there are also a number of other believed health benefits from fiber consumption, including aiding in digestion and helping to control cholesterol.

Soluble fibers are found in a variety of foods including whole grains, oats, vegetables and fruits. In addition you can take any of many of the dietary supplements on the market including fruit pectin, acacia fiber, and insulin.

Good Carbs Vs Bad Carbs - The Final Countdown

If you're thinking about going on to a low carb diet or have just started one already, then the word you'll have seen and heard most of all is carb. Chances are everywhere you'll turn you'll see this word and it will generally be given a negative spin. But, the fact is that your body needs some carbs. Carbohydrate foods play an important part in the way that your body works and the energy it can produce. Instead of believing that all carbs are to be avoided, it might be easier for you to simply split them up into good carbs and bad carbs.

Not all carbohydrate foods are the same. Some are downright unhealthy and shouldn't really be stuff you eat...except maybe on a very occasional basis. These are the bad carbs. Eat too many bad carbs even on a low carb diet and the chances are your body will end up converting some of them to fat.

Other carbs (you guessed it, the good carbs) can, if used correctly, be real useful to your body.
They can give it a range of nutrients, vitamins and minerals and fiber and can help it produce the energy it needs.

So, what is the difference between good carbs and bad carbs? Here's one way of looking at it:

Bad carbs -- bad carbs tend to be viewed as 'empty' in terms of real nutritional value. Most bad carbs will come from food that has been heavily processed or refined...or that is high in refined sugars. Examples of bad carbs include foods that have been 'bleached' through processing like white bread, pasta and white rice and sugary foods such as cakes and candy.

Good carbs -- good carbs can be found in foods that you eat more in their natural or original state. They will therefore naturally have a relatively high fiber content. Examples of good carbs include fruits, vegetables, brown rice and pastas, whole grain foods and beans.

One way of looking at how good and bad carbs work is to look at your body like it's your car. You go to the gas station and you can choose to fill your tank with an economy gas or a premium gas.
Now, you could choose to fill it up with the economy gas...and the car might still run. But, it might not run as well as it does on the premium gas.

It's the same with carbs. Good carbs will make your body run better and they'll therefore make it easier for you to lose weight. Bad carbs will keep you going but they can just give you a temporary "sugar spike" and could make you feel sluggish and listless afterwards...and they are likely to increase the fat in your body.

If you are on a diet, one of the biggest advantages of eating good carbs rather than bad carbs is that they can help solve one of the all-time greatest and most frustrating diet problems. Good carbs will stop you from feeling hungry for longer periods, whereas bad ones will only fill you up for a short period before hunger sets in again. Hopefully this one simple fact may be reason enough to make you think hard about eating more good carbs!

Can Attitude Affect Fat Loss & Fitness?

Earl Nightingale considered it The Magic Word.

Bob Proctor says it's the composite of your Thoughts, Feelings & Actions - and, it ultimately determines your results.

William James said the greatest discovery of his generation was that; "human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind."

Like a drop of water, your attitude ripples through your whole life.

Talk to any successful person and they'll tell you that attitude is the number one factor.

What does this have to do with fat loss, fitness and looking great naked?

It's real simple. If you have a bad attitude about exercise, nutrition, your genetics, your schedule, or anything else that plays a factor in you achieving your fat loss and fitness goals you will never consistently do what needs to be done.

I've always believed that the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people comes down to two things:

1. Successful people focus on the end result, while unsuccessful people complain about or simply don't do the tasks.
2. Successful people expect to win, while unsuccessful people expect to fail.
You see, every end goal is reached by performing a series of tasks that lead up to the desired result. When it comes to fat loss and fitness those task are pretty straightforward:

• Move more
• Eat Less

Now, what I mean by that is you have to burn more calories than you consume. But, before we go on, let me be clear that eating less doesn't necessarily mean eating less. Huh? Starving yourself is NOT the answer. In fact, it's actually counterproductive, but we'll save that for another post. I've seen many cases where I've had to INCREASE a person's calorie intake to get them to lose weight, but they're still consuming fewer calories than they burn - moving more and eating less. Get it?

OK, let's get back on track. If you understand the science (at least on the most basic level - move more, eat less), BUT you have a poor attitude about it you're never gonna be able to lose the unwanted fat and build lean muscle for that sexy, "toned" body that looks great naked.

Why? Because you won't do the necessary tasks (or you won't do them effectively) to lose the fat and build the muscle. You will skip workouts and the one's you do make will be half-hearted. You'll eat right sometimes, but more often than not, your binges will negate any good eating you did that week. To make matters worse, if your attitude is poor you'll expect to fail anyway (since that's your history) so why really try - "If you don't I try, I can't fail."

Here's the bottom line: if your genetics suck or your work and family schedule are super-busy there's not much you can do about it, BUT what you can do is CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE ABOUT IT.

How? Start by reprogramming your thinking with good information like this, and seek out other great resources on positivity and personal achievement. Naturally being biased, I'm a fan of my book, The Science of Getting Fit, so I strongly recommend you begin there. I'm also a huge fan of personal development material by Bob Proctor, and one of my all-time favorite books is As a Man Thinketh. Lastly, if you haven't read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People you must.

So, if you're not seeing the results you want - fat loss, muscle gain, better performance, greater health, and/or a great looking body - stop and ask yourself or someone who will be honest with you, "How's my attitude?"
