Lose Belly Fat

First of all, in your quest to lose belly fat, you need to realize that you can't choose what order you lose fat. Losing weight is actually just a matter of burning more calories than you consume.
Simple. So as long as you consistently consume less calories than you are using each day, you will continue to lose fat - and you will lose belly fat.

You should take note that it is always important to consult with your doctor before beginning a weight loss program. Proper belly fat loss will require that you exercise more and eat less. You may wish to consult with a professional trainer as well, to make sure you focus on exercises that will truly help you. For example, many amateurs start off thinking that all they have to do is crunches and sit-ups and their belly fat will soon be gone. Unfortunately, your abdominal muscles are small and no matter how hard you work them, they will not burn fat quickly. If these people had consulted a professional trainer, they would have been set up with exercises to work larger muscles with larger amounts of weight, burning more calories with less side-effects and effort.

Here are four steps you can take to help you lose body fat in general:

1. Carefully Choose Foods and Drinks

At least half of the food you eat should be natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, seeds, legumes, and nuts. The rest should be made up mostly of whole grain products such as whole grain bread. Don't drink any sodas; diet versions or otherwise. Water is really the only thing you should drink regularly.

2. Eat Regularly

You need to eat regular meals. If you don't eat regularly, your metabolism will slow down and it will become very difficult to lose belly fat. Eating twice a day is bad.

3. Don't Eat close to Bed time

You need at least four hours to digest your food before you lay down at night. Let your body rest while you sleep, not work at digesting food.

4. Exercise Regularly

Do whatever kind of exercise you think you can keep to consistently over the rest of your life.
You should aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise at least 3 days per week.

Getting rid of belly fat is not a horrible process, nor does it have to be hard work. All it takes is some good information, a good mindset, and a goal.

As more and more people are becoming victims of obesity, they are desperate to try every possible method of losing weight fast. The concept of starving oneself to lose weight quickly is not a new concept. It has been in place since decades. People involved in the showbiz industry, especially fashion industry, are known for fasting for days on end just to keep their figures in shape. They would take laxatives and other stuff as well just to get rid of all their body fats quickly. Many of you would now think that the showbiz people actually look smart and slim. Look Fit, Feel Great - 3 Ways To Get Rid Of Love Handles!

When you look in the mirror, there's a good chance that your eyes are drawn to the parts of your body you like the least, and like many people, your eyes might go right to your expanding midsection. Maybe you've always carried some fat in this area, or maybe you have recently put on some very undesired pounds, but in any case, you have decided that it's time to think about how to get rid of love handles.

There are a lot of people who say that the fat around the torso is the hardest to get rid of; the truth is, everyone loses their fat in a different way. Some people start at the extremities, while others start right at the waist. No matter which category you fall into, you'll find that the right exercises can give you great tone and help you lose that fat that you need to lose in order to see it!

1. Leg Flutters

When you are working to get rid of love handles, you'll find that you actually need to work your front and your back. The muscles underneath the love handles are called the obliques, and these are the muscles that help you bend. To do a leg flutter, lie on your stomach and lift your chin up while keeping your hands at your sides. If this position is uncomfortable for you due to shoulder issues, rest your elbows at shoulder height instead. While looking forward, lift your feet and knees off of the floor and flutter them back and forth for about twenty seconds. Rest for twenty seconds after that, and then repeat.

2. Bicycling

While probably the most enjoyable way to do this exercise that is so instrumental to helping you get rid of love handles is to actually hop on your bike and take a ride, you'll find that you can essentially get the same effect at home. Lie down flat on your back, keeping your hands behind your head, and bring one knee towards your chest, lifting your shoulder blades away from the ground in an attempt to touch your elbow to your knee, diagonally across your body. Then relax and repeat with the other knee and elbow pair. This should be repeated twelve to sixteen times.

3. The Pilates Ball

At this point, you are already aware that an integral part of working to get rid of love handles is toning the muscle while burning fat, and the use of an exercise ball is a great way to do that.
You'll find that this large ball encourages you to work on your core strength and to work muscles that do not commonly see a lot of use. When you have an exercise ball, balancing on top of it, flat on your stomach. This helps you tense the muscles you need work as well as give you a whole body work out. You may also wish to balance on all fours on top of the ball, which will give you better control and toning.

When you are working on strengthening your muscles, you'll find that you burn fat as a matter of course. Take some time to make sure that you are doing exercises that will really make a difference in your appearance, both in terms of muscle gain and fat loss, and learn how to get rid of love handles today!

What are the best exercises for losing weight? This short article will give you a couple examples for what I believe to be the best exercises for losing weight from my days as a physical trainer(early 90s). The machines these days have changed a lot, but the exercises are basically the same. The following article will give you the top three exercises that I, and my fellow physical trainer, thought to be the best exercises for losing weight.

I believe, by far, the most effective way to lose weight by exercise in using an elliptical machine. This exercise will not only increase your metabolism, burn calories, and help you lose weight... it is also excellent for your joints and muscles. The problem with running is that it isn't great on your ankles, knees, and other lower joints. Running is a great way to burn calories and increase your metabolism, but the negative effects of the harsh conditions it puts on your body negate the value of the exercise. This is why I find running/jogging on an elliptical to be one of the best exercises for losing weight. I find that even people that haven't worked out in years can get on an elliptical and go 10-20 minutes in their first round. This can burn over 300 calories easily. A great machine and a great way to burn calories.

Walking... YES, WALKING. In my years of training, I have found that walking can be an excellent and very beneficial way to lose weight. Second only to the elliptical, walking increases your metabolism, improves your cardiovascular system, and burns unwanted calories. Walking is second on my list of exercises for losing weight and it should be on yours! Walking is easy... its not hard on your joints... and can be done at almost any age. The average human walks about 3 miles per hour... at a normal pace. If you increase this to only 4 mph (which is 1 mile every fifteen minutes), you can burn over 400 calories in an hour. This is one of the EASIEST ways to burn calories and lose weight.

In my years of being a physical trainer at one of the top fitness centers in the US, I have seen people in the gym wasting hours and hours doing the wrong exercises for them. Why waste time... do it right the first time and meet your goals faster.

3 Steps To Help You Lose Weight Without The Excuses

According to recent statistics, over 60% of Americans are overweight. This figure is staggering! That means that there are millions and millions of people (more than half the population in the US) making excuses as to why they weigh what they do, every day!

Ok, that might have been a bit harsh, but how many times have you said (or heard someone say) "I'll start my diet tomorrow", or "I'll start working on losing weight after my holiday", or similar?

I've been guilty of it myself. I'll say something like, "I'll start working on my weight next week" or something like that. Next week and tomorrow never come. Today is the day to make the decision to lose weight and actually set up a plan on how you're going to do it.

3. Take action and just do it! If you feel an excuse coming on, replace it with a determination to lose weight in the best and healthiest manner you can and push that excuse aside. You have a lot to gain by losing weight, so it's time to do what's best for you!

Excuses are a thing of the past. They are not going to get you anywhere in life and they're especially not going to help you lose weight, so it's time you got rid of them once and for all.

Once you have taken action on a regular basis, your new routine will become a habit - that's when you will really start to see results!

Burning fat to lose weight is not just a matter of eating less, or worse, eating hardly anything at all. Losing weight is not a matter of merely producing a lot of sweat for many hours everyday. Losing weight is not a matter of taking diet pills with questionable effects.

Losing weight is anchored on one bodily process: metabolism.

Metabolism is defined as the body's ability to break down foods in order to transform them into much needed energy. These foods include calories.

Simply put, the faster your metabolism is, the faster your body will be able to burn calories. On the other hand, the slower your metabolism is, the slower it will be for your body to get rid of those calories, and more calories will remain in your system... calories which will build up into unsightly and unhealthy fat.

Which Weight Loss Program Is Right?

This article isn't going to separate the scams from the tried and tested weight loss programs. It's not going to point out the dangers of alternative medicines or the legitimacy of them. Instead, we're going to look at the beginning of weight loss...where it all starts, and why the starting point is important. Then we're going to see what goes wrong from point A to point B, and discover what's missing from modern weight loss programs.

Weight loss starts from a desire...something in the head and not in the body or on a plate. It might be the desire to look good. It might be a desire to stay fit. More often than not, it stems from a negative desire and not a positive one. For example, most people aren't into weight loss to look good, but want to lose weight so they won't look bad. Or maybe a recent visit to the doctor made someone aware that they're suffering from overweight, and it may contribute to heart problems.

There's nothing wrong with a negative motivator, but for long term commitment, positive inspiration is almost always more effective. So perhaps one of reasons weight loss fails for binge dieters, is that they're not focused on the positive aspects of weight loss...or perhaps the positive aspects aren't reinforced by outside influences.

Weight Loss Then and Now

To illustrate this, we can look at today's weight loss trends and compare them to what was happening twenty years ago in the eighties. Right now we have programs like Atkins. We have Kirstie Alley telling us how great she looks and how much weight she lost. We have pill and formula vendors telling us weight loss is as simple as the thirty second routine of taking a drug.
We also have an obesity epidemic on our hands.

What did we have in the eighties? Richard Simmons. Whether you loved him or hated him, you have to admit that he ruled the weight loss industry for a long time. Some people say his success was because he was so different. Some say it was his energetic personality.

I beg to differ. His success (not just as an industry leader, but in the number of people he helped lose weight) was his positive focus. He encouraged the audience, and he connected with them on a personal level.

Richard Simmons made a difference because his message was more than "you can loose weight." His message was, "You're worth it." So many people are trapped in the weight loss quandary...but it's not because they loose hope on losing weight. If a person has no self-worth, hope is almost useless.

Compare weight loss to a simple task like repairing a wooden kitchen chair. Someone without any carpentry experience might try one or two things and finally decide to throw the chair out and buy a new one. It's not that they felt hopeless to the point of despair. They just didn't feel that the chair was worth the effort.

Most people with chronic weight problems aren't of the mind that weight loss is impossible. It's more along the lines of, "Am I really worth the effort?"

And that's why Richard Simmons took the weight loss industry by storm. He came right out and convinced people of two things. "You're a special person, worthy of all the effort you put into this, and weight loss really is possible." These two messages combined weren't just motivators...they became the reason for people with weight problems to continue their lives.

What Changed in the Weight Loss Industry?

Over time, his VCR tapes and TV programs were replaced by the 'Buns of Steel' type of programs and jazzercise at the local YMCA. Oh, they had beautiful trainers like Kathy Smith to give us a little pep talk and keep us swinging those arms and kicking those legs. But let's face it, there's no comparison.

Now here's the dirty little secret about the weight loss industry and why it continues to fail for those with serious weight problems. The industry focuses on people who don't actually need to lose weight...not on those with real problems. As an experienced copywriter, I can tell you that the ads do not speak to overweight people.

In short, there's just no money in fat people. The only solution for them is expensive (and some might argue dangerous) procedures like stomach stapling. And then, of course, there are the thousands of fly-by-night scams offering an overnight solution. I won't point out which ones are worthless and which ones aren't. I'll only say that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

I'll also point out that even scams miss the mark when it comes to advertising. They always (following the classic marketing templates) focus on the benefits of losing weight. They never take their message a step further the way Richard Simmons did.

How do You Choose a Weight Loss Program Now?

Exercise and healthy diet...these are the physical keys to loosing weight. As for the different methods and techniques, some might work better than others. But if exercise and diet aren't both included in the program, you should keep searching. After you find the right program, the rest is in your head.

You need to find a way to reinforce your self-value. This usually means surrounding yourself with positive people. Not just someone who points out the fact that you need to lose weight, but who will point out that you're worth the weight loss effort...and who will think of you as a special person whether you lose the weight or not. This is more important than any of the available techniques. It starts at the desire for weight loss (because you want it) and fortifies it with positive reasons to keep going (because you're worth it).

How to Lose Belly Fat in 3 Steps

Everyone knows that being overweight and carrying excess fat around the waist isn't good for your health. When most people think about fat, they think about subcutaneous fat - the fat right underneath the skin.

However, another kind of fat can become a serious health problem for both the overweight and people who look slim by comparison... The name for this fat is belly fat or visceral fat. This fat surrounds the internal organs found within the abdominal cavity.

Some theories have linked visceral fat to an increased risk for developing high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke and cancer.

Here are three basic steps you can follow that will help you lose weight and burn off dangerous belly fat.

1. Set goals

If you are serious about losing weight and eliminating high-risk fat, then you must set goals. Find a quiet moment alone with a notepad and a pen and write down all the possible reasons why you would want to lose weight. Then think about all the problems not losing weight will cause you and write those down. Visualize yourself having lost weight and how that would make you feel.
Now right down how much weight you want to lose and the waist size you are shooting for. Write down the date in the future you would like to achieve your goal. Review your notes and get your mind into seeing yourself reaching your ideal weight and size everyday.

2. Change diet

If a person eats too much of certain foods and isn't physically active enough to use the excess calories, then he or she will gain weight. Take a good look at what you eat and how much of it you consume. Find out how much calories are in the foods you eat. If you buy packaged foods in the supermarket, then you should read the nutrition label for calorie and fat information. Take note of how much calories you consume everyday and if it is excessive, cut it down to a level that meets your energy and nutritional needs.

3. Exercise

If you want to lose weight and burn fat, then you also need to exercise daily. Exercises such as sit-ups or crunches will strengthen your abdominal muscles, but it won't burn off the high-risk visceral or deep belly fat. Foods That Help Burn Your Stomach Fat Fast!

To tone your stomach and shed fat, it's certainly important to exercise consistently. However, what you eat is at least as important. They say that a great midsection is built in the kitchen, so this aspect of toning your stomach must not be neglected. The good news is that there are foods that are excellent for losing fat - foods that will help tone you up very quickly.

Well, what are they?

1. High protein foods. More calories are burned by breaking down protein than for carbohydrates or fat. Of course, burning calories is a good thing, and the more you burn, the leaner you become. The protein keeps the metabolism active, which enables efficient fat burning throughout the day.

2. Low fat dairy items. Studies conclusively show that those who regularly consumed skim milk or low fat yogurt lost 65 percent more fat than those who did not! Furthermore, the added calcium helps build strong bones, so it is certainly wise to get in the habit of consuming dairy products.

3. Foods high in Vitamin C content. This consists of fruits (which are perfect breakfast alternatives to bagels or cereal). Fruits are great because the sugars are digested and burned quickly to boost your metabolism. Careful with fruit juice though - they include refined sugar, which is not good for metabolic purposes.

4. Whole grains. It's a myth that all carbohydrates are bad for you - they're essential for energy.
It is the processed carbs that can be detrimental to your health because of the artificial processes and additives that strip away the necessary nutrients and dietary fiber. This leaves the carbohydrate items with high starch contents, which can help build fat. These processed carbs include white bread, pasta, and white rice. Avoid these foods, and substitute them with brown rice and whole grain bread. The dietary fiber is helpful for breaking down food, which further speeds up your metabolism.
